Liver Hot Chocolate
Okay, I’ve been wanting to share these recipes with ya’ll for quite some time. I know it sounds odd, but I think it might just be a world changer for some of you like for me. Here’s a truth for you, I’ve been a Weston A. Price traditional foods follower for many years now, but the one type of food that I rebelled on consuming were organ meats. I believed the lie that liver was a dirty filter for our toxins. There’s so much more to the liver than being a filter, but if it’s coming from a healthy animal it’s a power house of nutrition and super healing to our own bodies.
In Chinese medicine if you want to heal what’s broken then you use the same from what is healthy, so if your liver is not well, then you eat the liver from a healthy animal, especially in times of deficiency. Unfortunately, and really it’s a bit of an oxymoron in a country being as affluent as the USA is, that we are a nutrient deficient people as a whole, unless you’ve held fast to traditional foods like organ meats, raw dairy, lacto-fermented vegetables, soaked grains and legumes, etc.
So this was the year I’d finally embrace it, eating liver. Did you know liver is rich in folate, iron, B12, Vitamin A (retinol-bioavailable Vitamin A), copper, and choline? It’s been an excellent decision. I definitely felt moved by the Lord to add this food in and it’s been a cornerstone in health recovery.
The truth is though, myself included, many just don’t enjoy the taste or texture of organ meats. I have seen the fruit of consuming them though, plus the natural act of chewing and eating the actual food. Liver is a superfood by far.

I don’t have measurements for the coconut milk and bone broth because it really depends on the size of your mug and cup. I just half those two liquids with the cup you’re drinking from that day. That being said you may adjust sweetness with the maple syrup. You simply put everything into a small pot and stir well until as warm as you’d like. I do prefer this with raw milk, but if you don’t have access, the coconut milk works! I buy it here for best price.
Liver Hot Chocolate Recipe 2
1 scoop Perfect Supplements Desiccated Liver Powder
1.5 Tbsp Raw Organic Cacao Powder
1/8 Tsp Organic Ceylon Cinnamon
1/8 Tsp Vanilla Extract
1.5 Tbsp Maple Syrup
Organic Full Fat BPA Free Canned Coconut Milk (I like Native Forest Simple) or Raw Milk (Goat or Cow)
1-2 Traditional Medicinals Roasted Dandelion Tea Bags
Boiled Filtered Water 1 scoop Perfect
Pinch of Redmond Real Salt
Okay for this version you are basically swapping out the bone broth for roasted dandelion tea. I chose this because roasted dandelion tea has a stronger flavor that can compete with the liver powder. Dandelion is also very good for the body. It supports natural cleansing actions.
