Liver Smoothie

I get so excited when I see little health hacks that actually work. Finding the blessing inside desiccated liver powder has been tremendous. In my liver hot chocolate recipe post I shared how I don’t love the taste of liver. So being able to engage in all of the amazing health benefits of liver through a whole food powdered supplement is beyond helpful. Liver contains vital nutrients like B12, folate, iron, retinol (bioavailable vitamin A), and more. Due to the fact that organ meats are no longer a part of the standard American diet like they used to be, we are lacking in so many of these nutrients in addition to depleted soils, genetically modified foods, and the addition of synthetic vitamins and minerals which are actually dangerous to our bodies.
I love the simplicity smoothies bring to adding extra nutrition to our day. I like to enjoy this in the warmer months to help cool down the body. I created this smoothie for another way to utilize the Perfect Supplements desiccated liver powder. Our little boy loves this smoothie. Since he’s not able to swallow the capsules, a smoothie is a great medium to get the liver in him. I just reduce the amount of liver powder in his. Since it’s a whole food being dried grass fed liver, it’s a great additional his diet. We like to enjoy some scrambled eggs and gluten free sourdough bread along with it at breakfast or have this smoothie for a snack.
Liver Smoothie Recipe
1-2 Scoops Perfect Supplements Dessicated Liver Powder
1 Cup Organic Frozen Mixed Berries (or a single kind)
1 Scoop Perfect Supplements Collagen
1/4 Tsp Organic Ceylon Cinnamon
1/8 Tsp Vanilla Extract (could sub vanilla bean paste)
1/2 Cup Sheep or Goat Yogurt (Organic A2 Whole Greek Yogurt is also good)
1/2 Cup Organic Coconut Water (I like Harmless Harvest)
1-2 Tbsp Raw Unpasteurized Honey
1-2 Tbsp Bee Pollen
Instructions:
Blend in a high speed blender until smooth! that’s pretty much it for a smoothie 🙂 This smoothie is rich in protein from the yogurt and the collagen, electrolytes from the coconut water, minerals from the honey, B vitamins from the bee pollen, and antioxidants from the berries. I think you will enjoy it and feel good consuming it.
